We are currently collaborating with the Bafta-winning writer Maurice Suckling to imagine a unique feature-length live show that tells the story of a lost wanderer’s journey through surreal and unfamiliar lands as he tries to find his way back home.
Fusing animation, music, gaming, technology and performance, this new work is an interactive feature film performed by a live band in front of or surrounded by screens. The musicians orchestrate sounds and simultaneously control on-screen animated elements of the story.
Our first chapter from this planned series of musical adventures is currently in production. In addition to our narrative development, we’re collaborating with a variety of storyboard artists, character designers and model-makers to help realise this interactive performance to its full potential.
Intended to be an engaging narrative, the audience connects with the characters as well as grooving to a great show. In this first adventure, our lost wanderer stumbles into a surreal desert landscape, where he learns that the door home can only be opened by an unusual guardian.
A strange-looking, twisted old creature who is trapped for all eternity in The Drylands, this guardian has played the drums that open The Doors more times than anyone could care to remember. Seemingly cold and mysterious, it’s certain that he's seen many die along this way.
We are also exploring the option to create this unique animated live musical performance as an immersive 3D experience, and to involve any variety of musicians, vocalists and other performers, or even the audience as a part of the on-screen interactivity.
